and I tried to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling my bluetooth driver (realtek Bluetooth 5 Adapter). After I uninstalled it, I can't find a driver compatible with my laptop and tried this one -> https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp142001-142500/sp142149.exe

but after installing it and restarting my laptop, nothing happened. The bluetooth is still not in my device manager.

(show hidden devices is already turned on)

Hi @Hendrizzzz

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If Bluetooth suddenly stopped working on your HP laptop, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check if Bluetooth is enabled in Windows

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Devices and check if Bluetooth is listed on the left sidebar.
  • If you don't see Bluetooth listed, proceed to the next steps.

2. Check the Bluetooth switch (if available)

Some HP laptops have a physical or function key (like F12) that toggles Bluetooth. Look for a Bluetooth symbol on your function keys and press it while holding the Fn key to enable Bluetooth.

3. Restart Bluetooth Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Scroll down and find Bluetooth Support Service.
  • Right-click on it and select Restart.
  • If it’s not running, right-click and select Start.

4. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look for a Bluetooth category. If you don’t see it, it may be under Network adapters or Other devices.
  • If you see an exclamation mark or error icon, right-click on it and select Update driver or Uninstall device, then restart the laptop to reinstall Bluetooth drivers automatically.

5. Reinstall or Update Bluetooth Drivers

  • In Device Manager, expand the Bluetooth section.
  • Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter and select Update Driver.
  • You can choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • If that doesn’t work, visit HP’s official website and download the latest Bluetooth drivers for your laptop model.

Alternatively:

  • Right-click on your Bluetooth device in Device Manager, select Uninstall device, and then restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the Bluetooth drivers.

6. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings and go to Update & Security.
  • Select Troubleshoot and then Additional troubleshooters.
  • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow the instructions.

7. Check Airplane Mode

Make sure your laptop is not in Airplane Mode, which disables Bluetooth and other wireless features:

  • Click on the Action Center (bottom-right corner of the taskbar).
  • Ensure the Airplane Mode button is not highlighted.

8. Check the Bluetooth adapter in BIOS

  • Sometimes, Bluetooth can be disabled in the system BIOS.
  • Restart your laptop and press the F10 key (or the key specified for BIOS on your HP model) to enter BIOS.
  • Look for Bluetooth settings under the Advanced tab and ensure it is enabled.

9. System Restore

If the problem started recently and none of the above methods worked, you could try performing a System Restore to revert your laptop to a previous state when Bluetooth was working.

  • Open Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
  • Choose a restore point from before the Bluetooth stopped working and follow the instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

It was actually okay hours after posting this post. I don't know how it happened. I just opened my laptop and bluetooth works. Probably it was the automatic work of windows they say.  I would like to know how tho.
