Hi @FredJR1

The laptop already has Wi-fi 6 because you want to change it ?

The device currently has a Wi-Fi 5 card installed. I would like to upgrade it to either a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E card, but I cannot find any information on whether the device can be upgraded to either of these newer technologies.

I saw the specifications of this model and it is sold with wi-fi 6, I already copied the model of the wi-fi in my previous message, if you do not have that model because I change it, then use that model that I put in my previous message. Remember that a wi-fi 6 only works if you have a wi-fi 6 internet router.

I have a 1200 Mbps Xfinity connection with the newest Xfinity Gateway. On my Pixel 8 phone, I get speeds of 1200 Mbps, but on my Chromebook, the maximum speed is only between 300 to 500 Mbps, even though it's located in the same room as the router. I suspect that the Wi-Fi card is failing.

We sent the Chromebook in for repair under HP warranty, but they returned it stating that it didn't need any repairs. Now, I'm trying to find a suitable Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E card and a local repair shop to handle the replacement. Honestly, I’m feeling totally frustrated at this point.

Then you have formulated your question incorrectly, if you know your laptop you know that it has wi-fi 6, now that you can not get the speed 1200 Mbps is another problem, see if you have all the updated drivers and talk to your internet provider if there is any limitation of the router.

I recently checked the information in Chrome://settings and discovered that my device is equipped with a Wi-Fi 5 card. However, I recall you mentioning that it has a Wi-Fi 6 card. I’m seeking clarification on this matter. Specifically, I want to know whether I can upgrade to a Wi-Fi 6 or even a Wi-Fi 6E card. Considering that I invested $1,700 in this Chromebook, I would appreciate a clear and direct answer so that I can determine my next steps. Thank you for your assistance!

wi-fi 6 only connects to a router in the 5 Ghz band, that's why you have that result if you have a 6 Ghz band router you should buy an E6 and an intel Killer type (for example Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 6E AX1675), which, as it has never been used in your laptop I can't be sure it will work,
