Product: Envy 17-j092nr
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My wifi performance is dismal.  The card came with the machine in 2007.  The notebook works great otherwise so: Is it possible to change out the wireless card and, if so, what is the recommended model/part number?  Also, where can I find instructions on how to change out the card?

Hi:

 

Yes, you can upgrade to this model wifi card...

 

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

 

The card can be found on Amazon or eBay.

 

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

 

Here is the link to the service manual which has the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

Your notebook is considerably newer than 2007.  More like 2013.
