HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ds1063cl

I own an HP Envy X360 Laptop. I just purchased a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard and mouse work perfectly with my laptop until I power down my laptop. When I go to power the laptop back up - it will not power up until I remove the dongle. Then it powers up. I spent 6 hours yesterday chatting with the Logitech technician trying to get it to work. I borrowed a friends laptop and it booted up fine with the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The Logitech technician had me go into the BIOS settings and disable the USB port. I have 2 USB ports and never one allows me to turn on the laptop with the dongle in the port. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi @DG722,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!

I understand your HP Envy X360 laptop encountering an issue when the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse dongle are plugged in during the boot process.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this problem:

BIOS Settings: Enter your laptop's BIOS settings during startup (usually by pressing a specific key like F2 or Del). Look for an option related to USB or Legacy support and ensure it's enabled. Save changes and restart your laptop to see if it resolves the issue.

USB Port: Try using a different USB port on your laptop for the Logitech dongle. Sometimes, certain ports might have compatibility issues during boot.

Update BIOS/UEFI: Check if there's a BIOS or UEFI firmware update available for your HP Envy X360 laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues with external devices.

Boot Order: In the BIOS settings, check the boot order to ensure that the USB ports aren't set to boot before the internal drive. Adjust the boot order if necessary.

Disconnect Other Devices: Temporarily disconnect other USB devices from your laptop during boot to see if there's a conflict between devices causing the issue.

Driver Update: Ensure that your laptop's chipset drivers and USB drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility problems.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, reach out to HP phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
