I deleted and updated my drivers a few weeks ago (after some WIFI issues) and noticed my LAN driver did not reinstall. Now my Wifi is spotty on one specific network, often getting "Default Gateway is not available errors" [No other devices on the specific network has this issue]. In the past, I would plug my LAN in when this happened but now I have no safety fall back without the LAN drivers.

I'd be happy to just get LAN back, but if anyone has insight to Wifi that is great too!

Thanks,

Red

Hi, Red:

For some strange reason, I can't get the HP support pages to work.

You should be able to use the W10 ethernet driver directly from Realtek at the link below.

Download, unzip and run the setup application.

What model wifi adapter does your notebook come with.  Maybe a driver update will help.

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for the quick reply, that worked for the LAN driver! I can't tell you how happy that makes me!

I currently have Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 version 20.70.6.1

I did update to the above driver recently, but may not have gotten the latest or correct one.  The wifi is strange, my laptop can connect to other networks with no issues, its just my home network that it has issues. And other devices can connect to my home network without any problems.

I used a intel driver&support assistant to obtain it. (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html)

Again thank you very much for your help!

You're very welcome, Red.

That is a quality wifi adapter.

I'm surprised that you are having issues with it.

Try this driver...1st one on the left is the 64 bit file.

Version: 20.120.1 (Latest)  Date: 3/6/2019

Thanks for the suggestion Paul!

I installed it and will report back in a few days after testing it to update.
