Good morning. For a week now, my laptop hasn't shown me any Wi-Fi networks or their associated options.
I've tried every troubleshooting option, disabling and re-enabling the network card, updating the drivers, and using the HP Hardware Checker, but I haven't been able to resolve my issue.
In device management it doesn't report anything abnormal to me.
Even when viewing the networks it tells me that in theory everything is in order.
The only error I can see is in the Windows Troubleshooting tab, which says:
"The IP protocol stack could not be automatically bound to the network adapter."
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @MAZZOLEITOR,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- The exact HP laptop model you’re using.
- The Windows version installed (Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.).
- If other devices in your home are able to connect to Wi‑Fi normally.
Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Network Reset
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
- This will reinstall network adapters and reset networking components.
2. Check Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and ensure the following services are running and set to Automatic:
- WLAN AutoConfig
- TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
3. Command Prompt Reset
Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run these commands one by one:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart your laptop afterward.
4. BIOS & Drivers
- Verify that Wireless LAN is enabled in BIOS.
- Check HP’s support site for your model to see if there’s a newer Wi‑Fi driver or BIOS update available.
Since the error mentions the IP protocol stack not binding to the adapter, this often points to a corrupted network configuration or driver mismatch. The above steps should help resolving the issue .
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
