I was forced to install the latest Windows 10 update recently and since it was installed I have not been able to access the internet through wifi or an ethernet cable. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network driver and that didn't work. I tried to reset my network and that didn't work. I didn't change any settings prior to the update and it was working fine before. What should I do?

Do others computers or devices use the same network and work fine?
What does the Windows10 networking troubleshooter advise about your networking hardware or connection?
Or anything else you have not mentioned that might help narrow down the causes.
Just be advised that at this time there also happens to be a surge in posts with users losing their wireless connectivity.... and for now, even though it seems to be a common problem, there is not yet a common solution

There is several phones and tablets connect as well as two video game consoles and a desktop computer and everything is running fine, no issues at all. The Window's troubleshooter said that there was nothing wrong and I should check with hp. I would consider buying a different os (windows 7) because of the constant problems with windows 10 but it is just too expensive.

The problem that is going around on HP laptops according to my own experience and what I am seeing on the recent forum posts, is affecting the connectivity of the wireless and/or Bluetooth .
I fixed that on my laptop by disabling the power savings for LAN setting in my BIOS and returning to the Windows 10 control panel for networking to reenable the wireless adapter. This should work for the users that have the pavilion dv6. But I think in general to solve this wireless connectivity issue for everybody, further troubleshooting must be done to see if downloading and installing a good matching copy of the computer BIOS will always work or not.
That said, I would not recommend it for anyone that cannot afford to lose their data.

I continue to look thru the posts on this forum to see if anybody is making progress on the recent wireless connectivity issue and I just saw this:
the only way to fix it on the as of now new a6 7310 notebook is as follows- TYPE "device manager" into windows (10) search bar- SCROLL to "network adapters"-SELECT "realtek rtl8723be''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' wifi adapter" (which is the route cause of the problem)-RIGHT CLICK and "update drivers" use the internet to find and auto install option and thats it.
You are welcome to try that and see what improvement you see and post back on the forum

I overlooked that your situation is worse. In that your Ethernet is not working either. Most of the connectivity problems expressed on this forum in the last week or so, have been with the wireless adapter. And just that problem is strange in that appears to be spreading like a virus and few, if any are getting their connectivity restored through normal troubleshooting technique.
If it boils down to corrupted bios, or drivers, or conflict in software, you may be able to still make progress with an external USB connected wireless adapter.
Reading the other posts concerning this and what is happening about it, I will continue to monitor and offer advise and maybe help solve it for everybody concerned.
