the HP 8710 has been very inconsistant with connection and communication with the PC. PC is wired to wireless router, printer is set up as web printer wirelessly. Most recent issue is as I work from home and connect to work site via virtual network, it seems that when I am connected to the virtual network the printer looses communication with the PC. When i disconnect the virtual network it will then, most of the time anyway, communcate and print. I ran HP and windows trouble shooter but no help. I am getting tired of rebooting, reseting, restarting just to print. My productivity is not very good having to deal with this.
Any help, info, something to help me understand what is going on, would be much appriciated.
Computer: Windows 10 Pro, Version 1803 OS Build 17134.165
Printer: HP office jet pro 8715
Wireless Router: Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 Smart WiFI Router, Model R6700
Thanks,
clg

I ran into EXACTLY the same limitation when I worked from home -- and was told by my IT folks that is a limitation of virtual networking -- as the printer then is NOT on the same network that you are on, so you can't print to it over the network. Of course, I could print to the Networked printers in the Office -- but not to my printer at home on my local network.
Sorry, but that is how it works.
