My wifi router does have 2.4 HGZ and 5GHZ. However my laptop is unable to find the 5G wifi network. Is it because my laptop does not support 5G? If so can this be change? Because the 2.4GHZ is very slow 😞

Hi:
Most likely your notebook only has a single band (2.4 GHz only) wifi adapter.
What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?
If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

You're very welcome.
Yes that model card is a single band only wifi adapter.
You can upgrade to this card...
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.
On a dual band wireless N router, it would have a maximum throughput of 150 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

Or you can purchase a dual band USB wifi AC nano adapter.
They hardly stick out of the USB port.
