Hi @AngelaLee76,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your HP notebook won’t connect to Wi-Fi, and even the usual taskbar options aren’t responding. Let’s fix this step by step:

Step 1: Restart Networking Services

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Click File → Run new task.
  3. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  4. Scroll down to WLAN AutoConfig, right-click → Restart.

Step 2: Use Keyboard Shortcut for Network Settings

  • Press Windows Key + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Network & Internet → Wi-Fi.
  • Toggle Wi-Fi Off, then On.

Step 3: Run Network Troubleshooter

  1. In Settings, go to System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
  2. Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

Step 4: Reset Network Settings

If nothing works:

  • Press Windows Key + R, type: ms-settings:network
  • Scroll down and click Network Reset.
  • Restart your notebook after reset.

Step 5: Update Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Windows Key + X → Device Manager).
  • Expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Update driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
