Hello, I have an HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g131nw (ENERGY STAR) laptop and I would like to change the network card that supports the 5 GHz band. What penalties are compatible with my device?

Your machine only has a single antenna, upgrading to AC card may not get full benefit of a dual band card. If you wish please use

   Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter

Regards.
