HP Chromebook - 11a-nb0000na
Chrome OS

My Chromebook WIFI keeps turning off, for instance I may leave a page I am looking at on the net to check a download or just go to the bathroom.

When I return the wifi has disconnected and the pop up tells me to refresh. Although not a major problem it is never the less annoying.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

cheers

Steve

Hi@dcwuk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Wi-Fi issues with the HP Chromebook disconnects randomly.

I have a few recommendations

  • If there's an active VPN connection on your Chromebook, turn it off, and rejoin the Wi-Fi network. If your Chromebook keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi when you restart the VPN connection, update the problematic VPN app to the latest version. Better yet, try using some other trusted VPN apps.
  • Reset your Chromebook to factory settings
  • Try doing Hard reset your Chromebook

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
