My Chromebook 14 has stopped recognizing Google Chromecast devices. On attempting to cast, the error message is "No devices found".
This has worked satisfactorily in the past and all my other devices (including Android phone, Linux PC running Chrome and Windows PC running Chrome) can all connect to Chromecast and stream video and audio correctly. Therfore it seems that the issue is with the Chromebook and not with the network or the chromecast devices.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Have you tried checking with a different HDMI cable?

"Were you able to cast using the Chromebook previously?"
Yes. That is why I said it has STOPPED working correctly. All other aspects of the Chromebook, apart from detecting Chromecast devices, seem to be OK.
"Have you tried checking with a different HDMI cable?"
What HDMI cable? The Chromecast plugs sraight in to an HDMI port. To repeat what I said in the question, all other devices in my home can connect and stream correctly to all my chromecast devices. Only the Chromebook fails.
