Hi @montambk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.

Were there any recent changes made to the computer?

While you respond to that, try these steps

If your HP laptop is indicating that you're not connected to Ethernet, but you're trying to connect via Wi-Fi, here's what you can do:

Check Wi-Fi status: Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your laptop. You can usually do this by pressing the Wi-Fi button on your keyboard (if available) or by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and toggling the switch to On.

Restart the Wi-Fi adapter: You can do this by going to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager), expanding the Network adapters section, right-clicking on your Wi-Fi adapter, and selecting Disable. Wait a few seconds, then right-click on it again and select Enable.

Reset network settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset, then restart your laptop.

Check for Windows updates: Make sure your laptop has the latest Windows updates installed.

Run the Network Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Internet Connections.

Restart your router: Sometimes, the issue can be with the router. Try restarting it and see if that helps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
