I have had to travel to a temporary accommodation to work and urgently need to use my Chromebook. It shows that it has connected to the wifi here but there is still no internet access. How can I access the internet?

@ElinSian Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the wifi is connected but no internet.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Try this --

  1. Turn off your Chromebook (don't just close the lid - do a complete power off)
  2. Turn off your WiFi router by unplugging the power cord.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or so.
  4. Plug in the power to the router and watch the blinking lights until it boots up completely.
  5. Turn on your Chromebook and wait for it to connect to the WiFi. The WiFi connection icon will stop pulsing.
  6. Sign in to your profile.

Please perform the Factory reset your Chromebook

  1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
  3. Select Restart.
  4. In the box that appears, select Powerwash and then Continue.
  5. Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account.
Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.
  6. Once you've reset your Chromebook:

If the issue still persists, You have to perform the recovery.

Important: Recovery permanently erases everything on your Chromebook's hard drive, including your downloaded files. If possible, back up your files before you recover your Chromebook.
