Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there!

I have a HP Envy 6055e. I recently changed the name to my router and cannot connect my printer to the new network name. I have restarted both my computer and printer. I have made it to the point where my printer is flashing purple. Once I go to setup printer and it is locating the proximity of the printer, my computer for some reasons gets disconnected from my wireless connection and it says I cannot connect to it. Which is an issue because the printer then will not connect up to the wifi network. I can only reconnect my computer to the internet once I close out of the the printer setup.

Can someone please help walk me through the exact process I need to take to connect my printer to the new wifi network. I've already spent about 2.5 hours trying to figure it out!

Hi, you’re not very clear saying you renamed your router. The router name has nothing to broadcasting WiFi. The router has a name and a password to access the router user interface. The WiFi SSD has a password to access the WiFi. I have just replaced my modem and my router. Everything on my network needed to be reinstalled using the SSD WiFi password. If you put in the wrong password, sometimes everything switches off. The router name and password have no effect on WiFi. If I have got this all wrong I apologise but nothing in your post is good information. Best wishes Al.
