I have windows 10 hp laptop that’s suddenly wont connect to the internet. It’s says the wifi is secured and connected but the apps aren’t loading. It’s not a wifi issue since other devices that I have are working perfectly fine under the same WiFi. The model of laptop is mode 14-dq0760dx. Anybody know how to fix it??

Hi @karvagear,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

This issue is common when the laptop shows “Wi-Fi connected, secured”, but apps and browsers don’t load. It usually means the network stack or DNS settings are corrupted. Here’s the troubleshooting process:

Step 1: Restart Network Components

  • Restart your router, modem, and laptop.
  • Make sure other devices work fine (you already confirmed this).

Step 2: Forget and Reconnect Wi-Fi

  • On your HP laptop:
    • Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi → Manage Known Networks.
    • Select your network → Forget.
    • Reconnect and enter the password.

Step 3: Reset Network Settings

  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

  • Restart your laptop.

Step 4: Check DNS Settings

  • Go to Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings.
  • Right-click Wi-Fi → Properties → Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  • Set DNS to:

Preferred: 8.8.8.8

Alternate: 8.8.4.4

(Google DNS)

Step 5: Update Network Drivers

  • Open Device Manager → Network adapters → Realtek/Intel Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Right-click → Update driver👉 Official HP® Support

Step 6: Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi

  • In Device Manager → Wi-Fi adapter → Properties → Power Management.
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Step 7: If Still Not Working

  • Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and test.
  • If it works there, a third-party firewall or antivirus may be blocking traffic.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
