Pavilion 15-cx0036ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear support,

I experience constant stable periodic ping jittering over Wi-Fi network on my HP Gaming Pavilion (cx-0036ur) laptop on WIndows 10 x64 bit.

Below is an image of Console window with ping test.Ping test problemPing test problem

You can notice that there is a stable constant ping jittering - once in 5-6 pings it becomes approx. 20x times higher than the regular one. This problem happens only in WIreless Network: I have tried to connect to the same router via Ethernet cable and it works fine without ping jitter.

This causes lags in online games as well as causes freeze in file downloading at exact moment when jitter is displayed in console. This laptop has Realtek RTL 8822BE wireless card, but there is no driver to be downloaded from official HP Drivers page, hence it uses driver provided by Microsoft: version 2023.70.109.2018 (09 Jan. 2018).

Could you please help me to clarify what can cause this issue and how it can be resolved?

Thanks in advance,

Andriy

Hello Jeet_Singh,

Thanks for providing me with possible solutions for my problem.

The problem has gone completely after full Windows reinstall and ping now works fine.

To my mind the problem was in mismatched drivers.

Kind regards,

Andrew

@Andrew_K_T,

Thank you for posting this on HP support Forums!

I see from your post that you're having issues with the Wifi connection on your HP notebook. No worries, I'll be gld to assist you.

I would suggest here is to Run Windows Updates troubleshooter -

Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.

Now try to perform Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager:

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.

Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.

Finally, please update the bios, chipset and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
