When running the HP Driver support, two drivers are listed as critical updates that should be installed:
1. Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers
1.0.0.184 Rev.S 18.2 MB Oct 19, 2021
2. Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver
1.9.1046.3002 Rev.S 2.8 MB Aug 22, 2022
Both were downloaded, but don't seem to install because they keep being listed as 'Critical Updates
What might be a reason for them not installing and is there a solution?
Regards
James (South Africa)

Hi:
There are newer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers than the ones the HP support assistant isn't installing.
Install these drivers, restart the PC and then delete the updates from the HP support assistant menu.
Wi-Fi:
1.0.0.210
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp142001-142500/sp142328.exe
Bluetooth:
1.9.1051.3002

The one critical update has reappeared. I am asked to download and install the following:
Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver 1.9.1046.3002 Rev.S Aug 22, 2022
I downloaded and ran the install, but does not resolve.
Is there another update?
Much appreciated

You're very welcome.
If you go to the HPSA settings, change it to notify you of updates rather than downloading and automatically installing the updates.
Then you should be able to delete the update that won't install, and it won't reappear.
Now that you have the latest BT driver installed, you don't really want to go back to an older version.

You're very welcome.
The settings should be in the HP support assistant program that is notifying you of the updates.
Isn't that where you are getting those updates from or are you getting them from the Microsoft Windows Update?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to remove the driver update from there.
I checked one of my PC's from that link and I don't see any options to delete driver updates.
I guess you can try installing the driver directly from the link below, but it will install a slightly older version than the one I gave you.
