I've been successfully using the "HP USB to Gigabit RJ45 Adapter" to connect to my local LAN and NAS for a long time. But now the laptop can't connect to the DHCP server anymore. Everything works fine when using WiFi, but it doesn't work with the "HP USB to Gigabit RJ45 Adapter".
Of course I've tried to reset network settings, IP address, deactivated IP6, searched for new driver etc. etc. - literally everything I found online that might be connected to this issue, but to no avail.
I can connect to the Internet but can't connect to my NAS as this is in a 192.168.xxx.xxx IP range while my laptop, due to the DHCP connection issue, is in a 192.254.xxx.xxx range (automatically set by Windows when DHCP is not available, to my understanding).
I'm happy to buy a different adapter if this one is not supported for Windows 11 or what ever, I just want to connect my laptop with my LAN in a decent speed as WiFi simply is too slow to transfer big amounts of data ...
Thanks and kind regards
Franz
