HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek0000 (54B25AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a Pavilion x360 of less than one year old. 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek0959nd (54B25AV?) Windows 11.

I run a mesh network (TPLink Deco). I'm not running a VPN. The wifi in this computer degrades from >300megabits to about 2 megabits within 30 minutes almost every single time I use it (based on internet speed tests found on the web). If I use my iPhone at exactly the same spot, it would still be on Wifi at 300Mbps.

I routinely have to drop the connection and reconnect to get back into useable wifi speed. I have tried working with HP support who had me delete the Realtek driver in the Device manager. Then to go into BIOS and choose reload.

Unfortunately the problem is not resolved. Who can help please? I can't do my work as I drop out of my videoconferences all the time.

I saw a solution by Expert Paul_Tikkanen earlier, where he actually shared an updated driver with a user who was struggling with the same.

This is the latest Wi-Fi driver HP currently has for all Realtek Wi-Fi adapters.

I don't know if it will fix the problems you are having, but if you don't already have the version installed by this driver for the model Wi-Fi adapter your PC has, you may as well give it a try:

Provides the following drivers:

RTL8851BE, version 6101.19.124.600

RTL8852CE, version 6001.16.162.1

RTL8852BE, version 6001.15.155.1

RTL8852AE, version 6001.10.356.3

RTL8822CE/RTL8822BE/RTL8821CE, version 2024.10.230.1

RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE, version 2024.0.4.208 (EOL, with Windows 10 19H1 WHQL)

Thanks a million Paul! I have installed it successfully and for now it seems to work. If the degrading kicks in again, I will reach out again.

Dear Paul, unfortunately I must report that the network speed degradation is still a major issue after all. Even though I have successfully installed the driver as per your kind instructions.

What else could I do to find out what is wrong and to obtain a usable HP laptop?

Hi, Adri:

Sorry that driver didn't resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try unless you want to use the latest driver not yet released to HP from this Asus forum website:

2024.10.230.2   11/25/2024

If you continue to have issues with the Wi-Fi adapter, I recommend that you contact HP customer service starting at the link below, since this is a peer-to-peer forum, and we don't work for or represent HP.

Thank you for your quick reponse again Paul!

Any idea what could be the cause of this problem if it's not the Wireless driver?
