Hi @Isa82,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
The error message "Device is offline. Try a different sign-in method" typically occurs when your device can't connect to the internet and is unable to verify your PIN. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure your laptop is connected to the internet. If you're using Wi-Fi, check that the Wi-Fi network is working and that your laptop is connected to it.
- Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or use a wired Ethernet connection if available.
Use a Different Sign-In Method:
- On the login screen, click on the Sign-in options link.
- Try using your Microsoft account password instead of the PIN.
- If you have set up a local account, use the local account password.
Reboot Your Router:
- Sometimes, simply rebooting your router can help re-establish the internet connection. Unplug your router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force a shutdown.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to turn it back on.
Check Date and Time Settings:
- Incorrect date and time settings can cause connection issues.
- On the login screen, click on the network icon in the lower-right corner.
- Make sure the date and time are set correctly. If not, adjust them accordingly.
Use Safe Mode with Networking:
- Restart your laptop and press F8 (or Shift + F8) repeatedly before Windows starts to load to enter Advanced Boot Options.
- Select Safe Mode with Networking and try logging in.
Reset Network Settings:
- Once logged in, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset.
- Follow the prompts to reset your network settings, then restart your laptop.
Disable PIN Login Temporarily:
- If you can access another account or can log in via another method, you can temporarily disable the PIN login.
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Remove the PIN and then add it again after restarting your device.
If none of these steps work, you may need to contact HP Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Network & Internet settings is not available to me, I only have access to Airplane mode. Please help.
