Hello everyone! Forgive me if this has been asked already but I couldn't find a straight answer on this. I recently bought an HP Envy X360, the 15in version. Had an intel i5, if that matters. Anyway, the laptop would drop the wifi signal intermittently, and then constantly. It got so bad I had to send it back to HP. I replaced it with an ASUS Vivobook s15 530 but the sound quality from that thing is straight up garbage, had to send it back too.

Thing is, I loved that HP Envy. Do you guys think I got a lemon, or is this wifi issue a real problem with HP?

Welcome to the HP Community --

Asking any Community forum to suggest that the brand of products supported by that forum are all plagued with issues is not useful.

All of the major computer manufacturers can -- and do -- build decent, competitive products used by millions of people all over the world.

You can certainly find a group of like minded people to bash any brand of just about anything -- people tend to group together in this way.  Our Community cannot help you to do that.

Places to check:

Network -- Weak, outdated, aged, or (important) a poorly configured router hardware will not support modern devices.  Lots of people miss this one -- your network is only as good as the equipment you use.

Environment -- Somewhat related to the router though less easily controlled, the environment has much to do whether any device will flourish or suffer in a given setup.  "Bad things" examples include:  Crowded network, Noisy (electronically), obstructions (walls, metal, pipes, furniture), wet, hot, dirty, other networks nudging signals (generally goes with noisy).

Equipment -- Yes, the quality of the computer you purchase -- any brand -- impacts how well the system will serve in your network and setup.  Spend less and get less.

Configuration -- More or less useful due to limitations of the extent of a particular component to be changed or managed.  Some hardware sits in the computer and does its job, other hardware is more configurable and / or is more able to react to its environment.
