HP 15-dw2000 Laptop PC (8VX86AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just want to know if this laptop supports CNVio, CNVio2, or only the regular PCIe and USB, so I could make the right decision before buying a an Intel Wireless Network card.

It's not fair that such very important piece of information is not mentioned in the manual and HP provides no option to contact support for free, and Intel says I should ask the manufacturer of my laptop about this.

There's no cross compatibility between these 3 form factors, so I need to be sure.

since it comes with a PCIe network card, it certainly supports PCIe/USB, but it could also support either of the other two, and it would be very useful to know which one (if any), because it'll unlock more options for me and I won't be disappointed few weeks later.

Hi:

The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with a Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo Wi-Fi adapter.

HP Laptop 15-dw2097ne Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

That is a M.2 form factor card.

No CNVI card will work in your notebook...none of the ones on the link at the link below will work.

What Are the Intel® Integrated Connectivity (CNVi) and Companion...

The problem you will have with upgrading the RTL8821CE to a better card is your notebook only has one antenna wire and a better performing card will require two antenna wires.

In order to install a second antenna would require ordering the dual antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual to add the missing second antenna and the disassembly procedure to install it is very extensive.

If you want to go through all of that trouble just to upgrade the Wi-Fi card, this model should work for you...

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

I would update the driver and live with the existing card.

I know that it is not a very good card, but at least it is dual band.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have 1 more questions:

This adapter is also compatible with my laptop, right?

Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (Gig+), 2230, 2x2 AX R2 (6GHz)+BT, No vPro®

AX210.NGWG.NV

I understand the need for a second Antenna and I surely will install another one.

You're very welcome.

Yes, I believe that model card may have a good chance of working too.

It would be good if you can get one with this HP part number/SPS number:

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # M27269-005
