x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had to re-install Windows 10 on my HP x360 Laptop. The installation doesn't have network drivers. So, I used another laptop to download the drivers onto a USB stick. When I try to copy the drivers to my X360, it gives a message that says the file can't be copied except without the file properties. When the files are copied to the x360, they don't work! So, how can I get network drivers o my x360?

Regards, Jim

Well, I have restored my X360 with an image I saved with Macrium Reflect. Never did get drivers to download until I connected the X360 to my network. I have a gadget that plugs into a USB port and the other end has an Ethernet port. So, I was able to download directly to the x360.

Thanks for all of the help.

Hi, Jim:

If the driver file downloaded correctly, you can run it from the USB flash drive.

There is no need to copy the file from the flash drive to your PC.

Thanks for your reply Paul. Actually the warning about copying without file properties occurs when I try to copy the file from the "download" folder to USB stick. Maybe I should download directly to the stick?

You're very welcome.

Can you provide the full model number or product number of your notebook and the file number of the wifi driver you are trying to install?

HP Recommended

Model Number is: HP Spectre x360-13t-ac000 CTO

Driver File is: Intel WLAN Driver 21.40.2.2 Rev.P

I go to the Driver download page and enter my serial number. Then I select "All Drivers". The result is a list of drivers of various categories.

PS I downloaded directly to a USB stick, then tried to install directly from the USB stick. Same results.

Hi, Jim:

According to the parts list for that model series, it comes with an Intel 8265 AC wifi adapter.

You probably be better off installing the latest wifi driver directly from Intel at the link below.

Windows® 10 and Windows 11* Wi-Fi Drivers for Intel® Wireless Adapters

The above driver will install version 20.70.26.2 according to the release notes I attached below.

I get the same message about copy with no properties. And if I still try to install, it gives a message about using the HP "helper app", and if I execute anyway it hangs up. I probably will quit working this until tomorrow.

Best regards, Jim
