HP ProBook 4540s H4Q91ES
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello,

I would like to ask you for help.

I want to change my current single-band wifi card for dual-band one for my HP ProBook 4540s (H4Q91ES), because I think it is not working properly (continuous internet connection issues, weak reception of wifi signal) and I also want it to support 5Ghz band.

From what I read, the only option for my laptop is Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 card with the HP spare part number 670292-001 on it. I found two such cards, they seem identical, the only difference being the WFM and BDM numbers. Is it in any way relevant regarding the compatibility with my laptop? Could you please check them (links below) and advice me if any of them (or perhaps both) will work with my laptop and so it is worth buying?

Thank you for your input.

Kind regards,

Matthew

HI,

thank you for your answer.

I thought that you only need to exchange the wireless card for the HP one that supports also 5Ghz band, which according to instruction videos seems quite easy. I had no idea about threading a new antenna wire, I don't think it was mentioned anywhere regarding this topic.

So would not it be easier to buy a dual band USB dongle/adapter? The thing is I already have Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier 2:

(supporting only 2.4 Ghz band though) that improved a recepetion of WiFi signal, but still I have the feeling the internet connection is not really stable and it is not working 100% wherever I try to connect my laptop to WiFi. That's why I thought replacing my internal wireless card could fix the problem.

Thank you for your answer.

Hi

It may have 2 wires as OEM, but you need to check.
