HP Pavilion g6-1000 is an invalid model/product. Anyway, I believe it was built around 2011. Due to the whitelist you can't upgrade its wifi adapter to a newer adapter.
Option: You can use USB wifi adapter such as
https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Networking/Adapters/67965-USB-AC53-NANO
There are many different brands around, cheaper too. It's amazing.
Regards.
