Hello HP Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with my HP EliteBook Folio 9470m laptop. The device has a physical Ethernet (RJ-45) port; however, when I connect an Ethernet cable, the connection does not work.

The Ethernet adapter does not appear under “Network Adapters” in Device Manager, and there are no indicator lights when the cable is connected. Wi-Fi works correctly, but the wired Ethernet connection is not detected at all. I have already checked the BIOS settings and confirmed that the internal LAN is enabled.

I would appreciate your assistance in identifying the correct Ethernet driver for this model and guidance on how to properly install it, especially for compatibility with Windows 10 PRO.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Hi:

If there is no device listed as an Ethernet Controller under the Other devices category in the device manager, then it is not a driver issue.

It is probably a hardware issue if the device is enabled in the BIOS.

A driver cannot install if there is no device present in the device manager that indicates it needs a driver.

If you do see an Ethernet Controller device, below is the link to the W10 driver for it.
