Hello,

 

I have 2 dock-stations, 1 for home-office (G5) and 1 at work (G5 Essential), both connected through Ethernet, and 1 Elitebook 830 G8.

 

Issue:

At work, when doing network speedtest (fast.com) I never get more than 15Mbps.

At home, it's always >180Mbps, VPN connected or not.

 

More testing:

At work, with another dock-station (G2), the speed gets better, closed to home speed.

At work, with an additional USB-C Ethernet dongle, the speed gets better, closed to home speed.

At work, another HP PC (840 G8), connected to the same dock-station, gets the same speed than my PC.

At work, another PC (Dell Latitude 7430), connected to the same dock-station, gets better speed, closed to home speed.

 

All Ethernet driver, dock-station firmware are up-to-date.

 

The exact same issue is reproducible with all the 830/840 PC and G5 Essential we have at the office (tested with 5 combinations).

 

Hence the question; is there a know problem using Elitebook 830/840 G8 with a dock-station G5 Essential ? Does fix/workaround exist ?
