Hi @rsbann,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re receiving an “encryption expired” message when trying to print from your laptop. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the printer and the computer
Power off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
Restart the laptop to refresh the secure connection.

Check the computer’s date and time settings
Make sure the system date, time, and time zone are correct.
Incorrect time settings can cause encryption certificates to appear expired.

Remove and re-add the printer in Windows
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Remove the printer, then add it again to renew the encrypted connection.

Update or reinstall the printer driver
Install the latest driver or full-feature software for your printer model.
Outdated drivers may use expired security certificates.

Power reset the printer network connection
Reset the printer’s network or wireless settings.
This forces the printer to generate a new secure encryption handshake.

Update printer firmware
Ensure the printer firmware is fully up to date.
Firmware updates often refresh security certificates used for encrypted printing.

Check network changes
Confirm there were no recent router, Wi-Fi, or security changes.
Network changes can invalidate existing encrypted printer connections.

Test printing using a different connection method
If available, test printing via USB instead of Wi-Fi.
This helps confirm whether the issue is network-encryption related.

I hope this helps.
