Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when i open the notebook it only shows black screen with the message:

 

"wireless module not supported. the system has detected a wireless module installed in the system is not supported. system halted. please remove device and restart . WLAN module ID (702)"

 

before this, i just checked and installed the updates from windows update last night then this happened when it restarted.

@Roy93, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Since this issue just started after the update, I suggest you perform a System Restore to an earlier time before this problem started.

Refer to the steps mentioned in this document.

 

If the issue persists, run a test on the hardware components of the PC

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform Component test > Network. Share the result on your next post.

 

Install updates using HP Support Assistant once you are able to login to windows.

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
