Hi

Perhaps if you can try a command like

ipconfig -all

WinKey + R

and type in the box

cmd.exe ipconfig -all

then in the box that opens type getmac  then repeat the ipconfig -all and post the results please.

HP Recommended

Tnx, I saw on screen that the command should be ipconfig /all instead of -all, is that correct?

This is the result I got back:

Hi

No doubt you are correct, I typed the W10 one I use, so egg on my face again.

I only see a slight difference in that the usual IP is 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx

but yours is 192.168.2.xxx and that does not make it wrong.

So I am unsure what to suggest.

So a ping

WinKey + R and ping

ping 127.0.0.1

ping 192.168.0.1

ping 192.168.1.1

ping 192.168.2.1

ping 13.107.4.52

post success or failure please.

Hi

The first ping 127 shows a device installed.

Ping to 192.168.2 .1 is your gateway and that works.

Ping 13.107.4.52 is to internetbeacon.msedge.net and that works.

So the device you used has internet access at a low level.

Was it your WiFi?  IE no ethernet cable fitted?

HP Recommended

Hi,

indeed it was my WiFi. No cable connected.

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.254
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.254

Should your Default Gateway be 192.168.2.1  as per the ping?

Can you amend the DNS servers and remove the 192.168.2.254?

Hi,

changed Default Gateway into 192.168.2.1, no connection!

Would it be helpful if I told you that my other laptop (Asus) does not have these problems, also connected via WiFI.
