Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10
I have updated my network connection drivers on an HP Laptop 15s-fq1079ns as recommended by the INTEL Assistant Driver and now I have no drivers working and cannot see any available networks. When I try to install the driver manually (downloaded from the official HP website) I get an error saying that it cannot be installed correctly.
If I look in device manager I see a driver called 'network controller' with an error sign next to it, the error code that appears is 18. When I try to update the driver I get the following message: “Windows found drivers for the device, but an error PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_34F0&SUBSYS_00748086
occurred when trying to install them. The system cannot find the specified file”.
The BIOS is up to date and any attempt to update this particular driver or perform a clean install of it results in the same error.
