HP Pavilion dv7-7023cl Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello, after re-installing Windows 7 64-bit I have lost wifi capability and the left side 2-USB ports. I cant seem to get the HP support page to stop "seeking" my laptop so that it can show me the drivers that I need. Is there any other way to download these drivers?

HP Pavilion dv7-7023cl Entertainment Notebook PC / Serial Number 2CE2291H5T / Product Number B5R45UA

Wifi driver - little LED is always red.

Left two USB ports do not respond.

There are yellow exclamation points in the Device Manager for these devices. Everything else seems to work OK. No longer have the installation / recovery discs.

Thank you!

Hi:

For whatever reason they have, HP does not include the chipset drivers for most of their older AMD-based notebooks.

Use the W7 64-bit chipset drivers from the link below to get the USB 3 ports to work.

Revision Number: 18.10.0830
File Size: 65.4 MB

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with the Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi adapter.

Below is the link to the driver you need for that model wifi adapter:

Once you get connected to the internet, the first thing I recommend you do is to download Microsoft Edge for W7, so you have a decent browser.

Then the support page should work correctly if you need any other drivers (audio, graphics, SD card reader, touchpad...)

You're very welcome.

Thank you Paul. This worked!  My issue now is that I cant activate Windows 7 Ultimate 64 with the key that is on the underbelly of the laptop and thats likely because for whatever reason I installed that instead of Windows  7 Pro 64.

Thats because I dont have Windows 7 Pro 64 and my wife has no idea where or even if she did a backup for has the CDs from the original installation. I have her key but not the correct OS.

I cant find a way to get it. So thats the next/last issue I guess.

Here is the link to the W7 Pro 64-bit ISO file.   The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.

You should be able to use your W7 Pro key on the notebook's case to activate the installation.

You can use the free Rufus utility to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Select the MBR partition scheme from the menu.
