I need to purchase a Ethernet Lan Cable for my HP Pavilion, to connect to my Modem. I'm not sure how to know what type to purchase?

Hi:
Looking at the service manual (chapter 1 and chapter 2), your notebook does not have an ethernet port.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
If you need ethernet, you will need to purchase a USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter, and then you can purchase a Cat 6 ethernet cable in a length that meets your needs.

Thank you so much! This was helpful. It does give me one more question, the USB to RJ-45 gig ethernet adapter, is that something I need to purchase from HP? **finally, after hours of searching you've given me an answer, quickly I might add. I shoulda come to HP to start with, lol.

You're very welcome.
You can buy any model that is compatible with Windows 10, such as this one...
I also believe your notebook's USB C port would also support one, but I am not 100% sure.
