This isn't a wifi or wireless adapter issue, it's an issue with the cabled ethernet adapter/connection.
I have a 17-CN1053CL HP laptop. It has built in wifi but no Rj45 port. So I purchased an HP USB-C to RJ45 adapter (V7W66AA) and 50 ft of CAT8 ethernet cable. (The HP adapter was the second one I purchased, the first (non-HP) was having problems holding a connection.) But now my HP adapter will stay connected to my router (and home network) but will lose its connection to the internet. I've tried to turn off sleep on everything, but it won't stay connected. And, there doesn't seem to be any ... schedule ... to the length of time it stays connected. I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature, but it's a PITA. I use the laptop for livestreaming and remote audio recording, so I need a better/faster connection then the wifi provides. I'm just not sure why the ethernet won't stay connected to the internet. Any advice is appreciated.
I do not have a problem with WIFI connectivity; this problem is only when using the ethernet adapter.
I use the HP app, the INTEL app, and Windows Update to keep the computer updated. So, "you might need to update your drivers" will not be an helpful answer.
