Ethernet is showing as "not connected" on Ultrabook.   Have changed cable, changed networking device.  Using a Comsol dock as the hardware.  Have upgraded the drivers.   On dock, both monitors are running, have USBA and C devices running.

@Havok1968Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Ethernet not working on Omnibook Ultra!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I can imagine how frustrating it feels when everything lights up — both monitors glowing, USB devices humming along — yet the Ethernet stubbornly sits there saying “not connected.” You’ve already done the right steps: new cable, different networking device, driver updates, even testing through your Comsol dock.

Since the dock is powering your other peripherals just fine, the missing link might be the Ethernet handshake between the dock and the laptop. Could you try plugging the Ethernet cable directly into the laptop (if your model has a port), just to see if it springs to life? If not, it may point to the dock’s Ethernet controller needing a firmware update or driver straight from the manufacturer’s site.

Another quick check: open Device Manager > Network Adapters, right-click the Ethernet device, and select Disable > Enable. Sometimes this simple nudge helps Windows “see” the connection again.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
