Hello, I am getting slow LAN transfer speed i mean when i try to transfer files my laptop to another laptop. I am using cat5 cable so it's not cable related issue. After some researched i see my laptop network driver Realtek PCIe EF Family Controler. So someone told me this driver means my laptop hardware doesn't support 100MBPS file transfer. When i try to transfer i get 11MBps fixed speed. So someone said my network driver should be Realtek PCIe GB Family Controler so i will get 100MB+ speed. So i am wondering is it the real reason?

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs page for your model.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05194447
It has a 10/100 ethernet adapter that is an integral part of the motherboard.
With that adapter, you should be getting close to a 100 MBPS connection speed, but no more than that.
11 MBPS is too slow. Something is wrong.
Check the actual connection speed in the windows control panel.
Go to control panel>network and internet>network and sharing center>click on your ethernet connection under the view your active networks section of the window.
It should show a connection speed of 100 MBPS.
If it doesn't try a different ethernet cable, cat 5e or higher.

Hi:
Then there is nothing wrong with the ethernet adapter or driver.
What download speed are you paying for from your internet service provider?
Maybe it is only 10 MBPS?
In any event, I wouldn't be able to help you with why the actual download speed is only 11 MBPS since the connection speed is perfectly fine.
