Chromebook 14 HDMI is not detected

Hey,

First thing, try a different HDMI cable if you have one. They fail more often than people think. Also make sure it's pushed in all the way on both ends.

If the cable's good, go into your Chromebook settings and click on Device, then Displays. See if anything shows up there. Sometimes you need to manually detect it.

Make sure your Chromebook is fully updated too. Click the clock, go to Settings, scroll down to About ChromeOS and check for updates. Outdated software can cause HDMI issues.

What model Chromebook 14 do you have? It should say on the bottom. And what are you trying to connect to - a TV or monitor? Some of the older HP Chromebook 14 models had quirky HDMI ports that needed the display connected before booting up the Chromebook.

Try turning everything off, plug in the HDMI cable, then power on the Chromebook with it already connected. That fixes it sometimes.

Let me know what happens.

I'm glad I could help!  If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster.
