Hi @Sirhilaz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset the password protection settings on your HP LaserJet M1536dnf printer, you can try the following steps.
Factory Reset: The easiest method is often performing a factory reset, which will revert all settings, including the password protection settings, to their default state. However, this will also erase any custom configurations you might have set. To perform a factory reset:
- a. Turn off the printer.
- b. Press and hold the "Cancel" button and the "Right Arrow" button simultaneously.
- c. While holding these buttons, turn on the printer.
- d. Continue holding the buttons until the display shows "Permanent Storage Initialization".
- e. Release the buttons. The printer will now reset to its factory default settings, including the password protection settings.
Reset via Embedded Web Server (EWS): If you have access to the printer's network settings, you can access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to reset the password. Here's how:
- a. Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the printer.
- b. Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a configuration report from the printer.
- c. Once the EWS page loads, navigate to the security settings or password protection section.
- d. Look for an option to reset or disable the password protection.
- e. Follow the on-screen instructions to apply the changes and save the settings.
Remember to ensure that you have administrative access to the printer or consult with your IT department if necessary before performing any reset procedures.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
