Product: HP 17/by0089cl Laptop

HP 17/by0089cl laptop - I cannot get the RJ 45 connector into the ethernet port on this laptop.  Please help.

Hi:

 

On some models the ethernet port is partially covered by a flap you have to swing open.

 

Does yours have such a flap?

 

RJ-45 is standard and there have been no changes, so that is the only reason I can think of as to why the cable just doesn't plug right in.
