I bought this used for my brother, i installed win 10 pro and its up and running. in the device mgr its missing the multimedia controller,  network controller,  pci encryption/ de-cryption controller and 4 unknown devices. i went to the hp site downloaded on my pc the drivers i needed and put on a USB drive. i put the usb into to this laptop , the drive opens and i cant install these drivers so i can get online. please help me to get this laptop running! thank you.

What's the product number of your notebook?

 

Run the Windows system information app and the product number will be found on the System SKU line.

 

You should copy and paste the driver installation files from the USB flash drive to the Windows desktop, double click on them one at a time to install the drivers.

its 17Z-cp000 product # is 2q7v8av. i got most of the drivers working. im missing a multimedia controller and an unknown..

Post the hardware ID's for the two devices that need drivers.

hi Paul, i got all the drivers installed tx to you! another problem, shows plugged in not charging, yet it does charge the battery. any ideas?  tx..

I've never come across that problem before, so unfortunately I wouldn't know how to fix it. 

 

Google it.
