I have two hp probooks

Old HP ProBook 6540b

And HP ProBook 4540s

My 4540s doesn't have Bluetooth and I'm wondering if I can replace the wireless module on 4540s from the one with 6540b

6540b part name : bcm94313hmg2lp1

4540s part name : 7542a-rt5390

I don't want to damage the motherboard thats why I'm posting here thanks.

You won't damage the motherboard by switching cards but if the notebook has a BIOS whitelist like the 6540b does, then the notebook will not boot up and report an unsupported wireless card error if the card you plan to install isn't supported.

After you remove the card, the notebook should work fine.

I suggest you replace the card with a supported card that has Bluetooth listed in chapter 3 of the service manual.

The above card is also dual band.
