HP PAVILION DV6308NR
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

For some reason after I installed Windows’s vista service pack 2 my WiFi driver stopped working so I upgraded to windows 7 and the same thing is happening. So I reinstalled the driver and it still doesn’t work.

Does anybody know what is going on?

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it has a Broadcom Wi-Fi card.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest W7 Wi-Fi driver HP has for that model Wi-Fi card:

it tells me that it’s not plugged in or broken but I just checked and it’s plugged in like how it’s meant to normally.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category.

There you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

I want to confirm that the Broadcom Wi-Fi card is the model Wi-Fi card your notebook has.

Make sure you didn't accidentally slide the wireless switch to the off position in the front of the notebook.

I did that once and had no clue why the Wi-Fi quit working.

Yes, it is a Broadcom card.

Did you see my post?

Go into the device manager and see if it is showing up there under the Network Adapters device manager category.

Also make sure the wireless switch on the front edge of the PC is in the on position.

See pages 1-6 and 1-7 for the location of the wireless switch.
