I want to upgrade the Wi-Fi of my old  HP Notebook - hp envy 15-k051sr to Wi-Fi 6 or wilfi 6e. It only has a PCIE slot for a network card. The current one is broadcom bcm43142 802.11 wifi which is having detection issues. Can anyone suggest a compatible card with good speed and detectability. My system has an Intel Core 7 4510U processor and Windows 10 64-bit, BIOS version F.42. Thank you in advance.

Are there two antenna wires connected to the Wi-Fi card?

A Wi-Fi 6 card would need to have two antenna wires connected to it.

Other than a couple of hybrid cards made by other electronics manufacturers, all Wi-Fi 6 cards are of the M.2 form factor and use smaller, thinner antenna wires and connectors.

If your notebook does have two antenna wires, you can look into one of those hybrid HMC form factor cards like the one you have now.

Yes, 2 cables are connected to my wi-fi card.

You should be fine if you can find a card like that one.

If you cannot find that type of Wi-Fi 6 card, the standard card that would work would be this one:

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

The above card has a maximum throughput of 867 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band with an AC or AX router.

What do you say about this Wi-Fi card from Intel, it will fit my laptop model 15 to the Intel 7260 series. Dual-band wireless network adapter HMW AC 7260 PCI Express Half Mini Card 802.11 b/ a/ g/n/ ac. It is more or less available in Amazon and Ali Express stores, the last store to purchase this model is more convenient for me.

You're very welcome.

You should be fine with just about any variation of the Intel 7260 AC.

W10 will install a Wi-Fi driver automatically, but not the Bluetooth driver.

I have shared a link to my Skydrive folder which has the last Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers HP released for the Intel 7260.

Download, unzip and run the Bluetooth driver in the Intel 7260AC WiFi & Bluetooth Drivers.zip file.
