Hi,
I have a HP ENVY Notebook - 15-ae103no with a really weak bluetooth signal on windows 10 (64-bit). I have conected bose bluetooth headphones and it works as long as my headphones are not more than about 1 cm away from the machine.
I have updated all the drivers and Bios I have tried a couple of diffrent blutooth devices and none of them work except for my old microsoft wirless mouse and that has a seperate dongle. I don't know what to do next, would a USB Bluetooth boster dongle make a diffrence? to be honest I would rather my laptop's internal bluethooth work.

Hi:
There is a possibility that the antenna cable that provides bluetooth reception has become detached from the wifi adapter, or never was attached in the first place.
Below is the link to the service manual.

You can find the procedure to access the wifi adapter in chapter 6.
What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?
What driver version is installed?

Hi Paul_Tikkanen,
The driver is BT_21.10.1_64_Win10.exe
and the adapter is
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
I think or is this it?

OK, thanks.
Since you have the latest bluetooth driver installed, I am leaning toward the possibility of a disconnected/broken antenna cable or a defective wifi adapter.
The bad thing would be if the antenna cable broke near the hinge from opening and closing the lid over time.

Hi paul_Tikkanen,
Thank you for your time it was the cable had become disconnected. I had to change the fan last year so I must have dislodged the cable when I did that as they are so close to each other.
Once again thank you
