I have an HP Elite 8460P.  The thing has notoriously low Wi-Fi speeds.  The modem card I had in it had a Modem 56K label on it.  What does that mean.  I use Viasat and often their modem measured speed is up around 150 MBps.  I am lucky to get 20 MBps of that.  In addition the thing often seems to glitch and will not connect to any website.  I disconnect and reconnect and it does.  I got a used card off of eBay just to see if there was a difference.  Yes there was.  The speed is now lower often the best being 6 MBps.  However, the hang ups seem to be gone.  .  What on earth should the speed be and what type of card should I have?

It is a very old machine. Yes it does have a modem, at that time it was very useful, now we do not use it any more because no providers for internet access.

It has wifi adapter but they are old too. With its age, you can NOT replace exiting wifi adapter therefore you can use the following option (or similar)
