I have used an ethernet connection for my internet for a long time. I need to use wifi now, but it appears my wireless adapter is no longer on my computer. The only adapter that shows in the device manager is a realtek adapter for family ethernet connection. This is a 10 year old HP Envy 20 all in one PC, running on Windows 8.1.

Its specs

It does NOT have wifi adapter, only Integrated LAN:
- Technology: Realtek RTL8171EH
- Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/s
- Transmission standards: 10-Base-T Ethernet
Quick fix and worth every penny:

There are many similar around.
Regards.
