Hi everyone

I have a HP Envy laptop and all of a sudden the bluetooth has gone crazy.  It says it is connected to y Bose Speaker and also my Bose headphone but I dont get any sound, also just bought a brand new HP printer and I cannot connect it through bluetooth.  It has to be something to do with my laptop as I have no trouble connecting via my phone or tablet to any of the above.

Hi  @Sajo387,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about the bluetooth connectivitiy issue.Dont worry let me help you with this.

Kindly confirm the below details :

  • Do you notice this issue with all Bluetooth audio devices (example speaker and headphones), or just one of them?
  • could you kindly confirm the exact model number of your HP Envy laptop
  • When you connect, does Windows show them as the default audio output device?
  • For the HP printer, does it show up in the Bluetooth device list at all, or is it failing to pair completely?

Below are few  steps you can try and confirm ;

1.Verify Bluetooth Device Settings

Go to Settings -Devices -Bluetooth & devices

  • Ensure your Bose speaker/headphones show as Connected
  • Click on the device -select Connect again
  • Remove the device and re-pair if needed

2.Check Sound Output

Sometimes Windows defaults to the wrong audio output. Go to Settings -System -Sound -Output

  • Select your Bose speaker/headphones as the default output device
  • Test sound playback with a sample audio

3.Update Bluetooth and Audio Drivers

Right-click Start -Device Manager -Bluetooth / Sound, video and game controllers

  • Right-click your Bluetooth adapter -Update driver
  • Do the same for your audio device
  • Restart your laptop after updating

4.Printer Bluetooth Pairing

Printers often require re-pairing. Go to Settings -Devices -Printers & scanners -Add device

  • Ensure printer is in pairing mode
  • Select it from the list
  • If not visible, try connecting via USB first to install drivers, then enable Bluetooth

I hope this helps.
