Hi all,
We've bought an Envy for an employee. It came with W10 Home so we purchased a Pro license and installed that.
After the installation of that the network no longer works.
There is a red x in the network icon in the task bar
The network connections is empty
If I use Windows Diagnostics it says "Windows could not detect a properly installed network adapter" and then "Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter".
I tethered the laptop with my mobile phone so it could connect to the network like that, which worked fine, but it will not download any new drivers for the network adapter. I've removed all of the network devices from the device manager and rebooted, this did not help. I've done system restore twice. It will not let me roll back to Home but it's reinstalled Pro twice.
Does anybody have any thoughts? Does Pro require different drivers than Home?
Thanks

Thanks.
Have you looked on the nbottom to get the FCC ID? That is important... Nevermind.
Here is the Intel wifi adapter driver software that you need

Kindly identify your notebok with its Product name or product number.
Identifying it as an Envy is far too vague to be used to give you specific links and requires too much interaction and an inabiity to research specifications and drivers for your notebook.
Look on the bottom of your notebook to find the ProID in tiny print. That is actually the product ID. Kindly post it here in your thread.
You can download the wireless adapter driver to a USB flash drive by use of a different PC.
You can identify the installed wifi adapter by getting the FCC ID from the tiny print on the bottom of the notebook. Post that here in your thread.
The drivers for Windows 10 Home are, generally speaking, identical to those for Windows 10 Professional.

Did you read my previous post? Hint, hint. The one with the driver that you should install.
Yes, the Intel radio 7265NGW is the model name of the wifi adapter. That is helpful.
Most of the notebooks I have seen contain the FCC ID. Yours did not.
